Online Fraud Protection
You may have seen the commercials for Verified by Visa. Here is how it works:
Verified by Visa protects your existing Visa card with a password you create, giving you assurance that only you can use your Visa card online.
You may activate now by entering your card number over the Visa secure server at www.Visa.com/verified. You’ll complete a brief activation process where you’ll verify your identity and create your Verified by Visa password.
You may also activate your Verified by Visa account while shopping at a participating online store. Again you’ll complete a brief activation process and create a password.
Once your card is activated, your card number will be recognized whenever you purchase at participating online stores. You’ll enter your password in the Verified by Visa window, your identity will be verified, and the transaction will be completed. In stores that are not yet participating in Verified by Visa, your Visa card will continue to work as usual.
Verified by VISA is another layer of fraud protection that RCEFCU recommends if you make online purchases.
